“Fun Day” is a Big Hit with Everyone

Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association, SAGE held it’s Annual Goldenhill Community Fun Day on Saturday 3rd August.

The day proved to be a big hit with everyone from the local community, which included residents from the very young to those who were a little bit more elderly in years.

SAGE asked Councillor Sheila Pitt, Lord Mayor of Stoke on Trent to do the honours in opening the 2013 Goldenhill Community Fun Day, and she did not let us down with her support in meeting residents and her kind words to the residents association.

It was estimated that around 500 people turned up to the event and it was also nice to see that the sun made an appearance to make the day that little bit more special.

There were plenty of activities for everyone to take part in, which included Paul Warwick’s Fair Rides, 27ft high Climbing Wall, Gladiator Duel, Bouncy Castle, Church Lane Morris Dance Troupe, Youth Services, Police/Fire Displays, Face Painting, Balloon Modelling, Glitter Tattoos, Dance Music Live, Market Street Tabletop Stalls, Food/Drink and not forgetting our own Sandyford & Goldenhill Councillor Martin Garner who went into the wet sponge stocks for a soaking along with Jason Owen, SAGE Committee Member to raise money for the residents association.

SAGE would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended the event, which helps to support this community get together day; also a big thank you goes to the SAGE committee and all the people who volunteered in helping the residents association make the day a big success.
