Popular “Fun Day” Attracts 100’s of People to Goldenhill

27ft High Climbing Wall at the Event

Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association (S.A.G.E.) attracted hundreds of people to its annual Goldenhill Community Fun Day yesterday.

The event which started in 2007 is proving to be very popular, attracting large numbers of people both locally as well as from across the city.

This year, event organisers invited Michelle Bradshaw, McDonald’s Business Manager to officially open the day. Tom Simpson, Secretary of S.A.G.E. and Michelle shared positive comments of how a busy fast food restaurant and a residents association can work together in improving the environment for its residents.

Activities on the day included, Paul Warwick’s Fair Rides, Appetites “Music for Everyone” Church Lane Morris Dance Troupe, 27ft High Climbing Wall, Gladiator Duel, Bouncy Castles, Face Painting/Glitter Tattoos, Balloon Modelling and much more.

Special thanks go to Staffordshire Police, City Councils Youth Services Team & Councillor Jason Owen & volunteers who agreed to go into the “Wet Sponge Stocks.”

This year the event attracted nearly 30 Table Top Market Street Stalls, which were all undercover, and gave the occasion that special purchasing/browsing opportunity that shoppers enjoy.
