Tom Simpson, Secretary, Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association (Ridge Road Park Entrance)

Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association has many concerns over proposed greenspace and streetcare team cuts within the city. Residents fear many things, including an untidy appearance of the area, and accessibility through pathways because of hedge row not being cut back.

Residents and local residents groups understand that in this day and age that finances are running slim, but it feels the importance of Stoke on Trent is it’s green and inviting look to everyone who visits the city, and their comments which put the city of Stoke at the top of the green space league.

City Council leaders are saying there will be funding allocated for smaller green spaces that would be devolved to ward councillors to address. This in part could be acceptable to residents and residents groups as long as there is sufficient funds to keep the grass and hedge cutting to an acceptable standard.
