Councillor Chandra Kanneganti to be Next Deputy Lord Mayor of Stoke on Trent

It is proposed that Chandra Kanneganti who is the councillor for Goldenhill & Sandyford is to be the next Deputy Lord Mayor of Stoke on Trent.

Councillor Jean Bowers has been proposed as the next Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, and she would be the 94th Lord Mayor to receive the iconic gold civic chain.

The two positions are to be decided on Thursday 10th September, subject to a vote by all 43 members of the City Council.

This is a great honour for Councillor Kanneganti to be asked to take on the role of Deputy Lord Mayor since becoming the Goldenhill & Sandyford Councillor in May last year.

Residents in Chandra’s ward wish him well to the proposed new role later in the year.

Hi Jean, after talking to Dr Chandra, he says he is still keeping his medical hat on, which I believe is good news for us all.
