Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association had concerns over the deterioration of post boxes in the area, which needed a repaint.
After contacting the post office, they advised that post boxes are repainted every 5 years to which the resident’s group believed the last paint job was well in excess of the 5 year period.
The post office listened the resident’s association’s concerns and placed the repainting of the three boxes as a priority, and today 27.08.24 the new red paint job took place.
Sandyford & Goldenhill Resident’s Association would like to thank the post office for their quick response in making the post boxes look good again.
The post box on the corner of Broadfield Road/High Street (Sandyford) was positioned there when King George V was on the thrown between 1910 & 1936, which means it has been receiving letters for around 100 years.
A reminder to resident’s to post your letters, birthday & Christmas cards in one of the post boxes in Goldenhill or Sandyford because if you don’t use it you will lose it.
Well done to the Residents Association and thnkyou to the Post office they look much better
