Drivers Reported & Vehicles Seized
on: August 22, 2025, 18:10

Staffordshire Police arrested one man and dealt with numerous drivers for vehicle-related offences this Tuesday 19.08.25 as part of our Making Great Places initiative.

Local officers worked together with the road crime team and partners to stop and check vehicles in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent.

A 38-year-old man, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, was arrested on suspicion of immigration offences after stopping a car as part of their proactive checks.

He remains in custody at this time.

The police also seized two e-scooters which were seen being used illegally.

Another driver was reported for having no insurance, three were reported for having no tax, two were reported for driving without a licence and three vehicles were seized for having no MOT.

Inspector Victoria Ison, from the Stoke-on-Trent north local policing team, said: “This was a successful operation which has seen vehicles seized and drivers reported for vehicle-related offences.

“We do not underestimate the impact that such offences have on local communities.”

We remain committed to tackling the issues affecting local communities and businesses the most as part of our Making Great Places initiative.

We’re building the intelligence needed to focus specifically on these main issues in a joint initiative with Stoke-on-Trent City Council, to target crime and to make the city a cleaner, safer and greener place for people to live, work and visit.
