Storm Chandra, Councillor Chandra Kanneganti along with Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association all came together to make sure the last day of skips throughout the area was a raging success for local residents.
The councillor and residents association realise many residents are disappointed when the skips have to go when fully filled, but in reality there is only so much money the councillor has when using his ward budget wisely.
Councillor Kanneganti is saying that later in the year when hopefully it is warmer and much drier to have more skips for residents to dispose of their unwanted items.

Another successful skip day today, which was paid for out of Councillor Kanneganti’s Ward Budget and managed by members of Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association.
Pictured left Tom Simpson, SAGE Secretary & right SAGE Vice Chairman James Smith. Two other skips were operated by residents association members Julie Cooper, Anna Beck & Hazel Goring near to Goldenhill Community Centre.

Local Police have successfully completed an operation to arrest 8 individuals suspected of committing residential burglaries. This shows how helping the Police to gather information can have great results for your communities. The full press release is below:
We’ve been working hard to investigate burglaries and attempted burglaries linked to car thefts in the Moorlands, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent.
Our proactive team in the north has been building intelligence to find those linked to more than 40 incidents, including footage circulating of some incidents on social media sites.
This morning, we went to five properties in Biddulph, two in Bucknall and one in Abbey Hulton, forcing entry at two.
As a result of this proactive action, eight people have been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit burglary with intent to steal.
They are:
Two 20-year-old men, three 18-year-old men and a teenage boy, from the Moorlands area, and an 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, from the Stoke-on-Trent area.
Detective Sergeant, Andy Durber, from CID, said: “We’re working hard every day to investigate reports and build intelligence on the criminal networks behind these crimes.
“Those responsible give no thought to the lasting impact of their actions on their victims, many of whom are left feeling vulnerable after their homes have been violated by intruders.
“We hope that this morning’s proactive activity provides some reassurance for our local communities that we are taking robust and positive action.”
