Pat Whitehouse from the Federation of Stadium Communities (FSC) came to the S.A.G.E. committee meeting this month to give a talk on encouraging local residents to participate in walking to get fitter. Pat gave some statistics that within the city there are 88 active walk leaders, 34 walks started within 18 months & a 1,000 people are now walking within the first year of the scheme taking place.
Local walks take place at the following venues. Tunstall Victoria Park 11.00 a.m. every Wednesday, Meet in the Floral Hall Cafe & Westport Lake 2.00 p.m. Tuesdays & Saturdays, Meet in the Westport Lake Cafe.
