Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association (S.A.G.E.) attracted hundreds of visitors to its Goldenhill Fun Day on Saturday 5th August which first started in 2007.

This long standing community event is proving increasingly popular, and attracting large numbers of people both locally and from across the city.

This year, event organisers invited Ruth Smeeth M.P. for Stoke North & Kidsgrove to officially open the day. Tom Simpson, Secretary of S.A.G.E. and Ruth shared positive comments of how they can complement each other to better the environment and help support residents in their community.

Activities on the day included, New Vic Theatre Borderlines Mask Drama & Puppet Making Workshops, Paul Warwick’s Fair Rides, 27ft High Climbing Wall, Gladiator Duel, Bouncy Castles, Face Painting, Balloon Modelling and much more.

Special thanks go to Staffordshire Police & “KASH” Police Dog Mascot, Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service, City Council’s Youth Services Team, Dance Music Live & Councillor Jason Owen & volunteers who agreed to go into the “Wet Sponge Stocks.”

This year the event again attracted over 30 Table Top Market Street Stalls, which were all undercover, and gave the occasion that special purchasing/browsing opportunity that shoppers enjoy.
