Tonight Monday 17th November the High Street will be closed to traffic in sections from Sandyford’s KFC roundabout to Goldenhill’s Woodstock Street/Kidsgrove Road between 8.00 p.m. and 6.00 a.m.
The contractor maintaining the road has advised that work will be taking place at the top of Goldenhill and a possibility of further work taking place around Sandyford McDonald’s.
The contractor has also said there will be staff managing the road network and can be approached to ask for further information in regards to part road closures, as well as access arrangements to properties and estates.
The roadwork maintenance is expected to last until Friday 21st November, although we have been advised that due to the weather expecting to turn much colder this could delay the tarmac laying, and further extend the work programme.
Councillor Chandra Kanneganti and Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association understand the frustration of residents and motorists using the busy A50 when road repairs take place, but we trust in the longer period that having important road repairs actioned benefits all concerned.
