Monday 1st December, High Street will be fully closed to traffic from Sandyford’s KFC roundabout to Tunstall’s Haymarket between 8.00 p.m. and 6.00 a.m.
The reason for extensive roadworks is to patch and repair potholes, as well as iron works which involve drains and manholes. The work also includes replacing road markings throughout the road network as well.
The resident’s association has been advised that further road works could take place along this stretch of road after tonight, although the contractor emphasised there will be no more road closures.
The contractor maintains that access to properties and estates will be restricted due to extensive road works taking place, although realising the closing of a major road network will inconvenience many drivers who use the A50, but said it will do its best to keep disruption to a minimum.
Councillor Chandra Kanneganti and Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association are pleased the road works are coming to an end, and thank residents and motorists for their patience during these disruptive couple of weeks.
