Community Speedwatch Volunteers Wanted

Do you want to be part of a team to stop motorists speeding in Sandyford & Goldenhill, especially on Reginald Mitchell Way and the High Street.

The campaign which is organised by Staffordshire Police helps to control speeding drivers who are notified of their actions as well as continual offenders receive visits from the police.

There is a possibility of up to 400 new houses being built in Sandyford, an additional 1,000 in Packmoor as well as more to be built in Harriseahead, which means there could be up to an additional 2,500 vehicles passing through Sandyford. What does this have to do with Community Speedwatch, well when vehicles pass through the speedwatch team they are recorded with the police and on recent speed checks they can record well over 1,000 vehicles passing through in a one hour window. The reason for having these records at hand means they can be used to address future planning applications to either oppose developments or make the area have a better highways infrastructure.

Please Note! If you are interested in helping the Speedwatch Team, then you can turn up to Sandyford Fire Station on Saturday 21st February at 2.00 p.m.

We look forward to seeing you there.
