It was reported at the Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Public Meeting last week that it wanted to celebrate Goldenhill’s mining past.
It was suggested by the S.A.G.E. committee at it’s meeting that it was looking at having a sculpture put up in the area that would depict Goldenhill as it was for many year’s a coal mining community.
Members of the committee are looking at approaching a local college or University to see if they would like to start the ball rolling as in students taking on the idea as a local project.
Goldenhill’s mining past goes back some hundred’s of year’s and the S.A.G.E. committee believe that by celebrating it’s history would help put the village back on the map for what it contributed to local industry.
