Staffordshire Police are warning people to be on their guard against suspicious callers at the door following a distraction – type burglary in the Sandyford/Goldenhill Neighbourhood on the 11/04/2014.
- Never trust anyone calling at your door without a prior appointment
- Always ask for ID, and check it
- Keep your doors locked even when you are at home
- Chain Use your door chain before opening your door
Most callers are genuine and mean you no harm but bogus callers can often seem very plausable and will try to fool you.
Follow our advice above and keep yourself safe and secure in your home. Please report any suspicious activity by calling your local police on 101.
