Car Park before its recent transformation
Joe Smith S.A.G.E. Chairman, and former police constable of Goldenhill Police Station is to officially open the car park at Elgood Lane, Goldenhill on Tuesday 24th February at 12.30 p.m.
The car park will then be known as the “Free Shoppers Car Park.”
Joe along with support from the S.A.G.E. committee, and Councillor Martin Garner has worked hard over the past 10 years to achieve a much needed upgrade to the car park facility.
Joe Smith has told the website “I am pleased the car park is no longer an eyesore it once was, and by promoting its status, it is looking more hopeful that when visitors come to Goldenhill, and need to use local shops that they will want to visit the parking facility. This I am sure will bring much needed business to our area, along with helping to keep vehicle parking away from the High Street.”
The upgrading of the car park has been a gradual transformation with a new tarmac base, railings fitted around the front and sides as well as landscaping to the rear.
Councillor Martin Garner has also arranged out of Ward Budget Money to have a new trip rail fitted to the car park so that its boundary can be defined.
