Hollywall Lane Road Surface Repair “8 Months After Being Reported”

Local residents, including those who ride motorbikes have shared concerns of a road surface on Hollywall Lane, Sandyford where the bend is, which has a long and wide engraved scrape along its surface.

Residents commented, it is very dangerous, especially when it unstabilises bikes when turning the corner.

The road damage occurred when an oil spillage or white paint spill took place, and the council were responsible for removing it, which they did and taking some of the road surface with it.

Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association, along with Councillor Kanneganti first reported this in December 2024, and after pressing for its urgent repair are pleased to announce it will be taking place for 2 days from the 31st August.

I am bewildered as to why residents of Hollywall Lane received absolutely no advanced warning, nor why the resurfacing is taking place on Monday 1st September – The day teachers return to Star Accademy in Burnaby Road, just off Hollywall Lane – and Tues. 2nd – the day on which children start the new school year at the same school!! Anyone who lives in, or commutes down Hollywall Lane will tell you how congested and chaotic it is around drop off and pick up times on the best days, but I am dreading Tuesday with every parent of new students attending, alongside the regular parents!!
