Damien West has updated Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association to say that the clean up of the three memorials is almost complete.
The remaining memorial of the Walrus Seaplane requires the repainting of the motif, obviously weather permitting as well as some fine tuning work to fully depict the plane.
Residents and Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association would like to thank the team for their hard work to make the Sandyford memorials nicer to look at, not only for the people who live in the area, but also when motorists and people come to the location and can see what spitfire planes did for our country when fighting in the 2nd World War skies.

Damien West and Rob Elsby have today been cleaning up three memorials located on Reginald Mitchell Way, Sandyford with two of the memorials depicting spitfires, and the one pictured which is the Walrus Seaplane.
Damien and Rob have been working hard throughout the night as well as through the day to bring the memorials back to their original state.
Residents and Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association would like to thank them for their hard work to make the Sandyford memorials nicer to look at, not only for the people who live in the area, but also when motorists and people come to the location and can see what spitfire planes did for our country when fighting in the 2nd World War skies.

Goldenhill had its very own High Street Police Station back in the 1960’s, and how times have changed since it was demolished in the last century.
The late Joe Smith who was the Chairman of Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association was a police officer who served at the station for many year’s.
Times were different then and having a police station on your doorstep made resident’s feel much safer and secure knowing it was there.
As we are reminded, the world is a different place to live in, and police forces across the country inform us of the need to have alternative policing, especially with online crime and drug abuse, and less police to man the large number of police stations which the city had back in the 1950’s and 60’s.
Mars is set to revive a beloved 1980s chocolate bar, delighting fans with the return of the classic treat. The nutty chocolate that became Snickers in the UK after a 1990 rebranding to align with its US name, is now back on shelves as Marathon.
Available from today, this fan-favourite will only be up for grabs until December, exclusively at Morrisons. The Marathon bar has made occasional comebacks, including one in 2019 where over 4 million bars were snapped up within 12 weeks by eager customers.
The renowned Snickers was birthed in 1930, named in honour of the Mars family’s favourite horse, and first introduced to British confectionery lovers as Marathon in 1967. Steve Waters, senior brand manager, shared his enthusiasm about the nostalgic release: “We’re excited to bring back the Marathon bar branding for a limited period.”
He added, “It’s a great way to celebrate over 90 years of Mars making chocolate in the UK. We hope fans of Snickers, who remember when it was called Marathon, will enjoy picking it up in store!

·Night: 10pm – 6am. The pay rate is £12 per hour, overtime paid at time and a half (£18 per hour)
·All overtime is available after working 36.25 hours a week.

Goldenhill Community Centre’s Sensory Garden is a place where anyone can pop along to enjoy a peaceful hour or two in a tranquil setting for free.
Just Family Charity would encourage visits to the garden so people can enjoy the lovely flower smells with plenty of nature visiting, including many birds when enjoying a visit to the bird bath.
The community centre is regularly open to visitors, and especially this coming week when the weather is expected to be sunny with temperatures in the 20’s.

We will be opening our doors to the public in the first open day in five years. The event is taking place at our headquarters on Weston Road, Stafford, from 11am until 4pm on Sunday 15 September, and entry is free for everyone.
We’ve got lots in store for everyone in the family to enjoy, including the chance to meet some of our brave police dogs and handlers keeping people safe every day.
Visitors can enjoy a number of demonstrations on the type of things our officers tackle on a daily basis, including methods of entry into addresses, working at heights and policing public order.

For just £3 per car, you can park at the County Showground and then we will take you by bus to the HQ and then back again at the end of the day. A Starbucks drive thru coffee shop could be located on James Brindley Way in Sandyford.
The coffee shop has put in a planning application with Stoke on Trent City Council, and its location will be next door to Sandyford Service Station where there is a Greggs, Subway and a Londis Store.
If the application is successful then Sandyford will have two drive thru coffee shops with the other being Costa Coffee, which is nearby just off the High Street on Riley’s Court Retail Park.
It is obvious that coffee shops within the city as well as across the country are becoming more and more popular with customers.
