Remembering Les Burrows Who Sadly Passed Away on Boxing Day

It is really sad to report that Les Burrows who recently lived in Burnaby Road, Sandyford for over 30 years has passed away in hospital on Boxing Day.

Les was a proactive member on the Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association (S.A.G.E.) and was elected onto the committee in April 2015 before retiring in March 2020 to go and live in a bungalow in Fegg Hayes.

Les proudly held the position of Environment Officer on the residents committee where he championed many worthwhile causes such has trying to prevent antisocial fly tipping to arranging to have signage erected on Hollywall Lane to stop HGV’s causing chaos on a road that was only suitable for cars.

Les will be sadly missed by his wife Angela who was a dinner lady at Hollywall School for 25 years, his two children and many friends, but also by anyone who knew him to be a caring individual to that what he believed was right in whichever community he lived in.
