Store colleagues are vital to our success. Yes, you will need to be able to carry out regular tasks like replenishing shelves, keeping the store clean and tidy and serving customers, but there’s so much more to it than that!

Store colleagues all need to be able to give our customers the advice they need to live healthier, happier lives. And we’ll make sure you’re ready for whatever question, query or lifestyle goal is thrown your way by asking you to complete industry-leading operational and “Qualified to Advise” training. The training will stretch you, but it will turn you into a health and wellness expert, ready to advise our customers on whatever they need. If you want to go on and specialize in sports, nutrition, beauty or aromatherapy, we can help you to do that too. You’ll also be guiding customers through their health journey by offering a diverse range of simple testing solutions (in applicable stores).

To be successful, we’d like you to show us that you have:

  • The ability to work well within a team
  • A compassionate and consultative approach to customers
  • A positive attitude and driven nature
  • A passion and enthusiasm for our products, nutritional supplements, natural beauty and healthy living
  • The ability to undertake computer-based study to support the product knowledge required to achieve an accredited qualification
  • Basic IT skills to use iPads to review products and solutions with customers

Restoration of a Much Loved Memorial Gate

Goldenhill’s War Memorial Gate from the Great War 1918 has been restored by Company Director, Frank Howsley (D&N Shotblasting & Painting Services) who offered their services for free (4th left), and it was officially unveiled today (20.12.22) by Chandra Kanneganti (Goldenhill & Sandyford Ward Councillor) and James Smith (Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association S.A.G.E. Vice Chairman). Stoke on Trent City Council’s Craig Howell, Streetcare & Greenspace Manager also supported the project by contributing money to purchase paint for the memorial.

Pictured left to right on the picture are Hazel Goring (S.A.G.E. Committee Member), Allan Brereton (Sandyford Resident), Chandra Kanneganti (Goldenhill & Sandyford Ward Councillor), Frank Howsley (D&N Shotblasting & Painting Services), James Smith (S.A.G.E. Vice Chairman), Tom Simpson (S.A.G.E. Secretary) & Lester Fern (S.A.G.E. Treasurer).

Unveiling Goldenhill’s Great War Memorial Gate

Great War Memorial Gate Before Restoration

Pictured above before it’s restoration is the First World War Memorial Gate outside Goldenhill Community Centre, which was in urgent need of refurbishment due to it’s many years of neglect and deterioration.

Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association thought it was about time they stepped in to preserve this piece of history in Goldenhill.

D&N Shotblasting of Cheshire offered to restore the memorial gate for free, along with making sure the plaque was more noticeable for everyone to be aware of it’s history.

The history behind the gate being erected was to celebrate as depicted on the gate “Presented by W. Stonier on Cessation of Hostilities of The Great War 1918” who at the time were the operators of Stonier’s Bus Company. It was also confirmed by local resident Sheila Simmonds that the gate was placed in front of St John’s Infant School to protect young children from running directly onto Goldenhill High Street, which we are sure saved many a young child’s life.

This Tuesday at 10.00 a.m. outside Goldenhill Community Centre (20.12.22), Councillor Chandra Kanneganti and James Smith, Vice Chairman of Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association have agreed to do the unveiling ceremony to celebrate the restoration of the memorial gate.

Everyone is welcome to attend on the day to witness the good work that D&N Shotblasting has done to preserve a memorial which was erected to celebrate the end of hostilities in 1918.

New Sandyford Service Station

The Kay Group who are developing the new Sandyford Service Station on James Brindley Way near to the KFC roundabout have requested Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association update residents on progression to develop the site.

The contractor has carried out maintenance and cutting down vegetation at the site outside of the nesting season.

The Kay Group say this is not the start of the development, but they hope to start work in late January or early February. The developer said they have agreed supply terms with BP to supply fuel at the service station.

The company has agreed to keep the residents association and residents updated on any future devolopment at the location.
