Searching for a Christmas bargain on social media? Keep your eyes open for deals/prices that seem “too good to be true”.
Staffordshire Police are advising that criminals may advertise low prices for popular items that are sold out everywhere else to trick you into parting with your money. Often, the goods advertised don’t exist, with images taken from genuine sellers to convince you otherwise.
Before making any purchases, read online reviews to check the seller is genuine.
Paying by bank transfer provides you with less protection, so it’s important that you use a secure method when making payments. Consider paying by credit card for purchases over £100.
Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association has made the police aware of regular vandalism/littering under the public footpath bridge near to James Brindley Way.
The location is after Victoria Park Road roundabout and goes onto James Brindley Way (South) and at the traffic light crossing you go onto the public footpath and then to the location under the bridge.
Council staff clean the area about 3 times a week and soon after that the littering, broken bottles etc. reappear. Today it has also been noticed a fire was started over the weekend at the location.
This type of antisocial activity shows no consideration for people or even those who are walking their dogs through times when broken glass is on the floor. Suggestions being made are that possible covid rules by the people who are causing the antisocial activity are not being observed by the actions they are taking.
If anyone knows who may be responsible for these unacceptable actions then please report it to the police on 101, crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or contact the residents association website www.sandyfordgoldenhill.co.uk e-mail where your comments will be passed onto the police privately.
There is a developing trend at the moment for thefts of parcels from domestic door steps. With the new procedures protecting against Covid-19, parcel delivery companies are more often not knocking  on the recipients door and walking away giving a “delivery status” for the item. These parcels are then stolen from the doorstep.
Please be aware of this and when ordering items online to try and leave a note to say “leave with neighbour” or have the item delivered at a time that you will be at home.
DVLA advise that if you have any concerns regarding untaxed or uninsured vehicles then please don’t hesitate to contact them.
Please be aware if you wish to report untaxed vehicles then you can do so by using the DVLA website and filling in their contact form. If you  wish to report a vehicle for being driven with no insurance then you can do so by contacting them online or via the 101 none emergency number.

Fraud is when trickery is used to gain a dishonest advantage, which is often financial over another person. Cyber crime is any criminal act dealing with computers and networks.
Staffordshire Police are advising that any fraud and cyber crime can be reported to Action Fraud by calling 03001232040.
Staffordshire Police have reported that on Wednesday 18th November at 01:30am; unknown offenders have stolen a concrete chimney pot worth £95 from a garden on Shannon Drive, Goldenhill.

Staffordshire Police have been made aware that there are recordings of organised fights on social media of a so called Fight Club, local youths have been filming pre arranged fights which are taking place in the alleyways in Tunstall after school. 
We are appealing for support from parents to identify the youths organising these fights and any information about where and when the next fight is planned.

Stoke on Trent City Council are able to offer community testing for COVID-19 at The Regent Centre, Regent Road, Hanley, ST1 3EG tomorrow (Tuesday 10th November 2020) between 10am and 12:30pm.

Staffordshire Police have reported that over the last couple of days offender’s have tried to break into the boiler house at the side of the Tin Church (Christ Church) on Rodgers Street, Goldenhill.
 Goldenhill’s Tin Church, Rodgers Street This time nothing was taken but damage was caused to the church. If you have seen anything suspicious or anyone hanging around the church then please call Staffordshire Police on 101 or a private message on Facebook/Twitter quoting serial number SP-20201104-0282.
