A dangerous driver and passenger on Thursday evening were caught on camera running away from an accident after driving on the wrong side of Reginald Mitchell Way leading into nearby Sandyford.
It was reported the bronze Ford Focus, which was stolen in a burglary in Hanley collided with three other cars, with an off duty police officer having to be cut from his vehicle due to the severity of the accident. The man along with other people who were injured in their vehicles were taken to the Royal Stoke Hospital.
The stolen car occupants were witnessed laughing when they started to run away from the mayhem they had caused, which adds to the frustration of why these people must be caught.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is asked to call Staffordshire Police on 101, referring to 804 of August 17 or you can phone crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Ruth Smeeth M.P. cutting the ribbon to officially open the 2017 Goldenhill Fun Day
Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association (S.A.G.E.) attracted hundreds of visitors to its Goldenhill Fun Day on Saturday 5th August which first started in 2007.
This long standing community event is proving increasingly popular, and attracting large numbers of people both locally and from across the city.
This year, event organisers invited Ruth Smeeth M.P. for Stoke North & Kidsgrove to officially open the day. Tom Simpson, Secretary of S.A.G.E. and Ruth shared positive comments of how they can complement each other to better the environment and help support residents in their community.
Activities on the day included, New Vic Theatre Borderlines Mask Drama & Puppet Making Workshops, Paul Warwick’s Fair Rides, 27ft High Climbing Wall, Gladiator Duel, Bouncy Castles, Face Painting, Balloon Modelling and much more.
Special thanks go to Staffordshire Police & “KASH” Police Dog Mascot, Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service, City Council’s Youth Services Team, Dance Music Live & Councillor Jason Owen & volunteers who agreed to go into the “Wet Sponge Stocks.”
This year the event again attracted over 30 Table Top Market Street Stalls, which were all undercover, and gave the occasion that special purchasing/browsing opportunity that shoppers enjoy.
Pictured right, Drummond Street, Goldenhill in the 1960’s before the houses were demolished and the new Goldenhill Community Hall/Centre and St John’s Vicarage was built.
How times have changed from the many terraced houses that landscaped the area of Goldenhill, although it is nice to remember what it was like in the good old days back in the middle of the last century.
If anyone has any good time stories about Goldenhill and Sandyford then please let us know.
Pictured right is St John’s Church School, which the photograph is believed to have been taken in the 1960’s.
The Church School in it’s prime was a focal point of education in Goldenhill to pupils who attended the school for many year’s, and it is believed goes as far back as Victorian and Edwardian times.
Pictured below is the sorry state of a much loved building, which has been left in a position of disrepair, especially since arsonists have continually been setting the school on fire.
Local residents, S.A.G.E. residents association and Councillor Martin Garner have put the eyesore building to the top of their list to make sure that the land owner makes the area good, whether a new build takes place or that the property is demolished.
The good news is that Stoke on Trent City Council has succeeded in the Magistrates Court to have Landstone Homes prosecuted for failing to comply with a Section 215 Order to have the building made secure.
Local residents can be assured that pressure will still be placed on the Land Owner to address the situation by their residents group, councillor and City Council.
