Council refuse collectors have refused to collect rubbish from overflowing bins in Taylor Street, Goldenhill.
The council has reported that residents have been leaving the wrong type of waste in their recycling bins.
It was reported that warning notices were left on offending bins, although the Goldenhill residents have said, it is other people who have been placing general waste into their bins which are to go for recycling.
Residents have been reporting that rotting food has been attracting vermin to the area, which has caused further concerns to the neighbourhood.
The City Council in an attempt to improve waste recycling across the city has employed a team of workers to check how recycled waste is being disposed of by residents, and it is believed the process will still carry on being monitored for some time to come.
The good news is that Stoke on Trent City Council has finally returned to the Taylor Street area of Goldenhill to empty the offending bins.

A cream and burgundy coloured Avondale Argente 4 berth caravan has been stolen from outside a property in Beaufighter Grove, Sandyford.
CCTV coverage shows three males in a silver coloured 4×4 vehicle approach the caravan at 10 minutes past midnight, Monday 21st November before cutting through locks and hooking it up to their vehicle before driving off just before 1.00 a.m.
Anyone who can offer any further information is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 62 of 21 November.
Residents and users of Goldenhill Community Hall/Centre are urged to attend a full council meeting, Civic Centre, Stoke, Thursday 8th December, meeting commences at 2.30 p.m. to witness Sheila Sidley, Lead petitioner who will be entitled to address the council for up to 5 minutes in support of a 1,000 plus petition to save our community centre.
The door to the public gallery on Kingsway is opened on days when the full council is meeting, and this will be a good opportunity for residents and community centre users to show our strength as a community, and support Sheila Sidley in letting the City Council know of our determination to save Goldenhill’s Community Hall.
Petitions are usually just noted, although in this case Councillor Martin Garner will move a motion that the petition is referred to an overview & scrutiny committee for further investigation. If the council vote to agree to the former then the overview & scrutiny committee has the power to make recommendations to the cabinet e.g. that the community centre should remain open, however the cabinet can ignore this and in any case have their final say.
To save our community centre, let as many people know about the full council meeting as possible, remember strength is shown in numbers, so see you all on Thursday 8th December, 2.30 p.m.

Problems with lifted and cracked pavements as well as potholes along Broadfield Road, Sandyford were highlighted on an estate walkabout with Sandyford & Goldenhill Residents Association (S.A.G.E.) and Stoke on Trent City Council earlier this month.
Council Highways have responded to complaints received about the poor standard of pavements stating that “a Quarterly Walked Inspection is due to take place in November and any defects that meet the intervention criteria will be logged for repair with their Maintenance Team.”
Council Highways have further reported they have logged it into their system to have the potholes along Broadfield Road repaired as well.
Staffordshire Police wish to reassure everyone, of the Force’s determination to deal with individuals who are intent on acting in an anti-social manner, and will act swiftly and proportionately to the increasing number of reported incidents.
The police say they are also aware of significant social media activity that is fuelling this so called ‘killer clown’ craze, and are encouraging families and friends to stop liking and sharing any Facebook pages that publicise the unwarranted clown antics and any planned activities.
Every time these sites are ‘shared’ or ‘liked’, it encourages more people to become involved in this unwanted and unacceptable activity.
Chief Superintendent Martin Evans of Staffordshire Police said “while some people might view the current craze of inappropriate incidents involving clowns as funny, unfortunately some people are using it as an opportunity to threaten and intimidate others including children. The Chief Superintendent went onto say, this is certainly not acceptable and is something that will not be tolerated.
Staffordshire Police want to make it clear they do not want to stop people having fun, but rather them wanting to protect communities from those who have sought to use this craze as an opportunity to threaten and intimidate people”.
It has been reported that clown activity is due to take place in the Goldenhill and Sandyford part of Stoke on Trent this weekend so residents need to be vigilant at all times.
Anyone who sees any suspicious or unwanted clown activity, or who has been intimidated or upset by such inappropriate behaviour, should call Staffordshire Police immediately on 101.

Golf Course where nearby access was gained
Travellers have gained new access onto the former Goldenhill Golf Course yesterday afternoon.
Stoke on Trent City Council has put up defences to stop illegal access onto the land, but this was not to deter attempts by the Travellers to initially move onto the land with four caravans through gates near to the clubhouse on Mobberley Road.
The City Council is now into the final stages of selling the land to a golf company who are in the process of returning the land back into a golf course.
